The clay is made on a potter's wheel using the fine, sticky, iron-rich clay that is unique to the Iwaya Koma kiln. The edges are folded back on the outside, making them sturdy.

Made from fine, iron-rich clay typical of the Iwaya Koryo kiln, this bowl is shaped on a potter's wheel with slab construction. The rim, folded outward, is robust and secure.
